What Does This Make Me?

What a trying weekend! Both Will and Tazlin wasn't too well, she with her teething which caused a bit of a runny tummy ~ so potty training was a huge NO go and Will, well he seemed to have gotten food poisoning again from Romanz Pizza, third weekend in a row and they claim he is the only one complaining. Well last weekend I also had the run ins but I didn't have pizza with him this weekend so I say it is definitely the pizza!

Here is what my crack up is about...
You know people get into the habit of doing some things, maybe coz they're lazy to do it otherwise or simply because it is a smarter option. Well, my habit formed due to laziness I'm ashamed to say and now we are paying the price...here it goes:

I have the habit of moving across the handbrake from passenger to the drivers side when we leave in the mornings for work. Will normally reverses the car up the driveway, gets out and opens the gate - sometimes I would move over then reverse the car out of the yard and then pull up the handbrake, take the car out of gear and move back to the passenger side so he can get in and drive.
I should'v known that this would end up badly one day, but it never occurred to me.
Sunday morning we were running late for church, we have to be there early for band-practice, and it was pouring down with rain. We were rushed and edgy, I told him to open the gate since he had his trench coat on and I didn't. So as my habit would serve, I shimmy over to the drivers seat and reverse the car out. For some reason I felt rushed...though no-one was rushing me. I pulled up the handbrake, took the car out of gear and moved back over to the passenger seat. Obviously the handbrake wasn't secured properly and it went down, the car rolled forward and pushed Will up against the gate and the gate flung open. I'm in a fury to get the handbrake up but my cold hands kept on slipping and my foot couldn't reach the brake since I'm already half way over.

So the car knocked him in the side of his knee. Nothing's broken but we suspect he might have pulled a muscle or tendon.
I can say one thing though about my habit...it's GONE...what a way to unlearn a habit...through an accident! Stupid! Thankfully God was with both of us, otherwise it could'v ended much more tragically! I just thank God for his protection over my husband.

Will says he forgave me but I'm having a hard time forgiving myself...seeing him limping around and in discomfort and pain tears me apart. I told him that I can't forgive myself until his suffering is over...it's hard!

  1. For those of you wondering, he's all better now. And that bad habit of mine has been kicked to the curb. I either take the car right up the driveway and reverse it out once he's opened the gate or I go open the gate...can't have room for any mishaps like that again
